First Cadillac Escalade-V sold at auction for $500,000

Recently, the first Cadillac Escalade-V was sold at auction in the United States, with a transaction price of US$500,000.

It is reported that the proceeds from the auction will be used for the only black university in Michigan, and another sponsor donated US$25,000; a total of US$525,000.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, codenamed VIN 001, is Cadillac’s third V-series model to be auctioned since 2021. Previously, Cadillac CT5-V BLACKWING and the 120th anniversary special edition models were sold at auction.

For reference, the Cadillac Escalade V is the flagship power version of the Escalade, with a starting price of $149,990 in the United States. The vehicle is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 supercharged engine with a maximum power of 508 kilowatts and a peak torque of 885 Nm. It can accelerate to 100 mph in less than 5 seconds and accelerate to quarter mile in 12.74 seconds.

Not long ago, GM China confirmed the launch of high-end import business. Cadillac Escalade and Escalade-V, full-size SUVs, will most likely be introduced for domestic sales. In the same level market, Lincoln Navigator will become the most direct competitor.
