Volvo opens new technical center in Sweden to help transform and achieve goals

Volvo said it will build a new technical center in Stockholm, Sweden, which can provide 700 jobs, involving software engineering, data analysis, product management, online business and user experience.

This technical center is Volvo Cars’ current expansion project in Stockholm. It will be built on the existing online sales and product development and is a key area for Volvo’s ongoing transformation. . It will support Volvo's strong growth and its goal of having more than half of its cars sold online and more than half of its software developed in-house by the middle of the next decade.

Volvo Chief Product Officer Henrik Green Green said: “In addition to making our cars safer through technology and sustainable through electrification, we also want to fundamentally change car ownership and make it more personal through a world-leading consumer experience. This is Why we're investing in product and technology and expanding in Stockholm to access a wealth of talent in everything from product management to software engineering and user experience."
