General Motors Design recently shared a sketch of a crossover SUV on Instagram. It adopts General Motors' current design language and has similar design elements to the Chevrolet Corvette C8. According to previous indications, the new car is most likely to be a Corvette SUV and a pure electric model.
This sketch was drawn by Jason Chen (macotodesign), according to his Instagram and Linkedin profiles , who has been a creative designer at General Motors since 2015.
Besides, an electric Corvette crossover is not a new idea. There were rumors as early as 2019 that Corvette would become an independent brand and launch an SUV and sedan. These rumors come from some GM insiders.
It is reported that General Motors has begun developing a Corvette electric SUV in 2021, and even more than one model. This would mark the beginning of the Corvette as a high-performance series - similar to Ford's Mustang Mach-E.
Relevant people also shared that the design of some Corvette brand concept cars is already in progress, and is being designed by General Motors designers. Previous reports also stated that the car may be released as early as 2025.
