EU: Ban on sales of fuel-powered cars and minivans in 2035

This also indicates that Europe will stop selling new fuel-powered cars and minivans in 2035, but does not include large commercial vehicles.

According to the agreement, the EU's mid-term goal is to reduce emissions from fuel-powered cars by 55% and minivans by 50% by 2030. The agreement will then go to the European Council for adoption and final implementation. This agreement is part of the "Draft Climate Protection Law" submitted by the European Commission in July 2021. After the introduction of the draft, the European Parliament and the European Council went through multiple rounds of discussions and finally reached an agreement in October 2022.
