On January 7, I was honored to participate" Discover the light of the future - the new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque L P300e丨Land Rover Discovery Sport P300e Green Enjoyment Tour" event in Chengdu Station. I am very much looking forward to what an old British luxury brand that focuses on luxury, nobility and comprehensive performance will look like when combined with new energy.
What I test drove this time isDiscover sports version P300e model, plug-in hybrid modelThe exterior design is highly consistent with the fuel version, and it still continues the Land Rover family design language, but some details have been changed.
The interior design still adopts Land Rover’s classic family language, and is overall in line with the luxury brand’s standards. The positioning is also kind in terms of materials and workmanship. In addition, the interior design does not use too many wood grain veneers to avoid being too "old-fashioned". This interior is still quite suitable for young people.
The Discovery Sport P300e is built on the PTA transverse engine platform and is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T three-cylinder engine + electric motor. The maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 200Ps and the maximum power of the electric motor is 109Ps. So this car has a comprehensive system power of 309Ps and a comprehensive system torque of 540N·m.
Discover Sports Edition P300e has three drive modes, namely EV, hybrid and SAVE modes . The EV mode is easy to understand, that is, the motor drives the vehicle forward. At this time, the vehicle is in pure electric mode, and the overall driving experience is the same as that of a general pure electric vehicle. In SAVE mode, the motor does not work and the 1.5T engine is completely used to drive the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle will become a pure gasoline vehicle.
As for our daily driving, the hybrid mode should be the most used. When the vehicle is in hybrid mode, theThe step-by-step motor will work first, and the power response will become more positive. If acceleration is required again, the engine will further intervene. At this time, the power performance will still make the driver more confident. And in hybrid mode, after releasing the accelerator pedal, there will be obvious kinetic energy recovery intervention, but the degree of intervention is better controlled and will not make the driver feel sad.
As a member of the Land Rover family, the Discovery Sport P300e also has good off-road performance. The vehicle has a ground clearance of 212mm, an approach angle of 23°, a departure angle of 28°, a longitudinal breakover angle of 19.5°, and a maximum wading depth of 600mm, making it easy to cope with ordinary off-road roads.
CoordinationLand Rover's unique all-terrain "see-through" technology, as well as Land Rover's iconic ATPC all-terrain process control system, the various subjects in the off-road test drive venue did not pose any challenges to it, and the overall performance was excellent. Very relaxing.
Editor's comment:Starting from the static dimension, we found that the performance of the sports version of P300e is almost the same as that of the fuel version. The family-oriented design is enough to attract the attention of many consumers. Through the test drive, we can see that the essence of the Discovery Sport P300e lies in the hybrid mode. The faster power response definitely makes the Discovery Sport more sporty. In order to maintain this movement, Land Rover specially added fast charging to the new car so that it can replenish energy more efficiently. For some cities with traffic or purchase restrictions, or for those who want smooth, quiet, lower fuel consumption, and green travel, the Discovery Sport P300e and Range Rover Evoque L P300e will be better choices than the pure fuel version.
