FCA faces $300 million criminal fine for diesel emissions cheating

According to overseas media reports, FCA will accept a fine of US$300 million for cheating on diesel model emissions.

Previously, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency launched an investigation into FCA in 2017 and reached a settlement in 2019. FCA paid a civil settlement of US$800 million. Fine; this fine is a penalty for criminal charges.

Information shows that FCA has previously affected nitrogen oxide emissions through software operations on diesel models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500, involving a total of about 100,000 vehicles. Similar problems have arisen at Volkswagen Group, which has also paid high aftermath costs in the United States.
